A fully cohesive wedding | Gabbie & Craig in Brooklyn

Gabbie and Craig got married in May at 501 Union in Brooklyn, and to say we loved this wedding’s vibes would be the understatement of the century. You will see why as you read through and look at all the photos, trust us! Let’s walk through the process, from first proofs to final wedding moments!

Our first step with any couple is to have them fill out a details questionnaire, which captures not just the nitty gritty details like time and date and address, but also the general vibe of the couple, the wedding, and the invitation suite. Most of the time we begin with designing the save the date or invitation suite (we did both for Gabbie & Craig!), and then we use that as a blueprint for all of the day-of wedding items.

When we started on Gabbie & Craig’s invitation suite, here’s what they told us:

  • Color!! With some nods to disco balls (but not a *ton* of pink)

  • Bridesmaids are wearing yellows/pinks/oranges/reds - choosing whatever they want and mix of solids/florals

  • Something that fits together a little like a puzzle - a cool clip holding it all and/or different shapes (half pages/curves/cut outs)

  • Maybe even fully retro, but something that still feels like an upscale wedding

Their Pinterest Board looked like this:

We initially sent over 2 different options for the first round of proofs:

Option 1

Option 2

They loved both options, and wanted to combine them a bit! They asked for some font swaps, and different shapes with more curves. Those edits bring us to proof #2:

From there, we continued to tweak some of the language, and also ended up adding in the Rehearsal Dinner invitation to the suite itself for the folks who got invited to both. Rounded edges, wavy edges, and a custom shape - oh my! And here is the final suite!

I love the way this turned out; looking at their Pinterest Board, this fits the tropical disco vibes exactly. Also can we just take a moment to talk about the metallic glitter foil on the ‘let’s boogie’ card? SWOON.

Once the suite is complete and approved by the couple, we get everything ordered and sent out. Gabbie and Craig opted to assemble the suites themselves (we offer it as an add-on service for couples who want it!) so everything was sent directly to them to mail out.

Then it’s on to the next phase: day-of wedding items!

Here is a list of all the items we did for Gabbie and Craig’s wedding:

  1. Small Signage (signature drinks + bar signs)

  2. Escort cards

  3. Cake Table tented cards

  4. Place cards

  5. Menus (we ended up designing #4 and #5 as a cohesive unit and attaching with metallic silver string 🕺🏻)

  6. Table Numbers (notice the backs— each table was both numbered and then named for a spot that was special to the couple, and they had a little description of each on the back!)

  7. Matchbooks

  8. Cocktail Napkins

You’ll see in the photos below that those all of these items coordinate perfectly with the invitation suite, creating cohesion from start to finish!

Metallic. Bright colors. Disco balls. Funky fonts and shapes. THIS WEDDING WAS ALL THE THINGS.

Before we go, I also want to talk about the save the dates, because I loved those too. They knew their wedding was going to be tropical disco themed at this point — however, they wanted to stay simple with the save the dates. We did black and white with some subtle disco nods: disco balls off the street signs (an actual drawing of the intersection where their wedding venue is located!) and the crosswalk sign being a person doing the disco instead of ya know…a regular hand or walking guy.

We are obsessed from start to finish.

We love you, Brooklyn Browns! And special thanks to Lucie B Photography for capturing everything so beautifully.

If you’re interested in working with us, give us a shout — we’d love to get to know you!
